Context

Coming out of the pandemic in late 2022, the fast-growing construction company sought to identify how to align best the marketing department’s team, tools, and processes to deliver a more significant impact across the organization.

Challenge

The goal was to define and implement an organizational development plan that would maximize the team’s abilities while delivering an optimal customer experience across the RK network of companies. Five department areas were audited in authoring the plan.

Result

As the principal marketing consultant leading the effort, I worked directly with the marketing team's leadership, including its Director of Marketing, to design, author, and implement the organizational development plan recommendations. The result was five (5) critical areas of optimization were identified as the highest priority needs to position the team for transformation successfully:

  • Remapping of the marketing department's service offerings
  • Optimization of the Project Management intake and workflow processes
  • Staffing plan and realignment to support the new optimized intake process for the department
  • Technology sourcing and integration to support the redefined marketing operations
  • Design and implementation of an OKR measurement program

From a KPI's standpoint, the newly implemented intake system helped generate more than 400 new project requests in just the first quarter alone, resulting in a 40% daily increase of new intakes with little to no impact on team performance. This early traction positions the team well in reaching it's desired 20% increase in team productivity by year's end.
